Spice It Up!

Acne and pimples are a sign of inflammation, and you want to do things to help your skin calm down. You can use strong medications to reduce oil and eliminate bacteria, or you can take a gentler approach with a powerful spice, turmeric. In Ayurveda, turmeric is considered a master herb with anti-inflammatory properties. Masks made from turmeric can help reduce inflammation, and brighten the complexion.

Stir It Up!

Bitter cold winter air, radiator heat, and drying A/C in the summer can all leave your skin dry as sandpaper. To rehydrate your skin, consider the lovely avocado. They are all the rage these days, but this bumpy green fruit is a great source of Oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat. It’s the fat that makes them so delicious, and it’s same fat that acid that also makes them great as the base for a hydrating mask. Mix avocado with a little honey, and you’ve got a great mask to refresh and hydrate your skin! Note: Dry skin is also a sign that you need to drink more water!
